New Addition To The Family!
Categories: (Family, General, My Girls) by Lisa Ruggles on 21-01-2009
Ok, so it has only been 2 months since I have written a post. I don’t think I will be getting the “Blogger of The Year” award.
“Addition To The Family”, for those of you who immediately thought baby. Umm….. you must not know me too well. Except a miracle, this body of mine doesn’t plan on getting pregnant EVER again. Hmm…. as I reread that sentence I realize it is a bit harsh. :) Maybe I need some counseling to get over unresolved issues. LOL
Anyways….. as many of you know Chloe is my little animal lover, and her life just wasn’t complete without a little animal to take care of. So…. I started looking to see what animal would be the perfect fit for her.
Cats: I would take one but I’m highly allergic to them. No thank you!
Dog: We are still traveling a lot and I will use any excuse I can to hold off the puppy phase.
Horse: Definitely to much work and money!
Llama: Well, I heard they spit.
Rat: They just creep me out.
Guinea pig: I was a bit hesitant but one day I decided to just run in the pet store and check them out. They had some out but they were sorta boring little pigs. I asked for assistance and was shown to the back room where they had 3 more baby guinea pigs.
And that is when it happened, I was shown the most adorable little pig ever! She looked me in the eyes and I knew she was the one! I laugh as I’m writing this because if you know me, I really could live without animals but this one won my heart.
And so, I introduce you to Flower (as in the skunk from Bambi):

She looks like a little skunk and we love her!

That name is sooo appropriate—I’ve heard that guinea pigs stink as well! Ok, maybe that’s a misnomer…she IS pretty cute!! ^_^ Congrats to Chloe!
That’s our little Flower!
So hon, if it takes getting an animal to make you come out of blog hiding, how long are we going to have to wait for the next blog post???

Abbey, I have heard that too. So far, as long as the cage is cleaned approx. every 5 days and we give her a bath 2xs a month, no smells! Chloe has been really good about taking care of her, she knows I mean business regarding Flower smelling up the house. She also knows that if I have to clean that cage, Flower is gone. It has been a great way to teach responsibility.
welcome back! this post made me lol!!! flower actually looks like she enjoys having her photo taken!
enjoy being the mom of a pet.

Congratulations on the new addition! I had a guinea pig named Porky when I was little. I know, not a very creative name. It was a great pet until my neighbor decided to feed it Saltine crackers. Take my advice, don’t do this. It will die.
i love flower! what a cutie.
“you can call me flower if you want to” is probably my favorite line from that whole movie!

Oh man!! How adorable!! I never really liked guinea pigs. I, however, had a rat named Sugar. We had no idea that it was rat though until it grew. To keep the story short, we had a snake, snake didn’t want mouse, I wanted to save mouse, mouse turned into huge rat!!! Hahaha… but I was in love with him. Anyway.. congrats on the new addition! I can’t wait to have girls that want to save animals!! I will buy a whole pet store. (not BJ though, I have already been warned that we will not own a zoo LOL)
And BTW, Lisa, you look great!!! I noticed that right away!! What are you doing?? share your secrets!
LOVE YOU!
How cute!!!!
