I Love Where I Live - Part 1
Categories: (General) by Lisa Ruggles on 19-08-2008

Saturday morning Brad and I woke the girls up and went to the Farmers Market.
I love the Farmers Market! There are so many people milling around looking for their produce for the week. So much to choose from: home baked goods, local winery’s, herbs, fresh salsas, and butter spreads, the local creamery brings their cheese, milk and yogurt. It is amazing!
As I stand in line, most people are in a great mood and love to talk while waiting.
The corn from this stand was AMAZING! The best Brad and I have had this year. So sweet and delicious!

Did I mention they have lots of samples…..

and freshly made noodles….

and live music, usually folk or bluegrass which I don’t normally love, but it just fits the mood here….

and here we have the fresh vegi’s and yogurt we brought home…..

sweet pea Emily helping to wash and dry the tomatoes…..

What do you love about where you live?

Lisa!
A and I went to our farmer’s market on Saturday. I love the feeling in the air as everyone brings in their produce.
This one lady grows heirloom tomatoes and we got 2 varieties… maybe the best tomatoes I’ve ever had…. makes roma taste like nothing.
Stay in touch!
my family likes corn. thats it. farmers markets are like cruel and unusual punishment to them. i, however, love them!!!
what do i love about this town? thats a hard one. im a beach girl, southern california…this aint no So. CA. but we are surrounded by amazingly beautiful mountains here in the valley! and, we have farmer markets too, a lot of them…but, well, we dont visit them much. i mean…my family is fine with getting corn out of a can. ick!

Oh, my gosh those look sooooo good! I love going to farmers market…but don’t usually have to because whatever we don’t grow our neighbors or friends do and we always end up sharing the veggies. That’s one of my favorite things about where I live…It is also very quiet. Enjoy those Veggies!

I love the proximity to so many beautiful places. I love our farmers market too, the great distinct neighborhoods, and I love the clean air and great water we have in Portland. Plus - no sales tax! .
……But for all those who want to move to Portland - it’s a yucky place.
LOL
I love a farmer’s market too. We don’t have them here though. I really don’t like my town. I do love the teaching at my church. The attendees haven’t been nice, but I guess that’s because 1/2 of them each week are first timers. The staff is amazingly nice.

It so funny that you posted this — I was just thinking about how I am just loving where I live right now. We have so many beautiful parks to explore. Even when we are in the hospital, duPont Children’s Hospital has beautiful grounds and a great playground for our daughter.
I always feel like I complain about where I live — It is so nice to see the beauty in it!

I have to agree with Karen…I love all of the free public parks around here! They’re great places to hang with your friends or to just have some quiet time.
