“Chicken Killer”
Categories: (Family, Humor, My Girls) by Lisa Ruggles on 01-07-2008
Last week, Emily was quite upset with me. She hates the idea that we eat birds of any sort. Thanksgiving we had a complete melt down when I pulled the turkey out of the oven. She insisted that I put the head back on and let it go. Plenty of drama in our home.

I couldn’t resist grabbing the camera and capturing her attitude. There is one part where I asked her something, but if you listen, you can hear her call me a “birdy eater head.” I almost lost it with laughter!

that is so funny! you should take her to visit a chicken ‘layer barn’, bet she’d decide they aren’t so special after all. =D
read enough to see you used to live in ft. wayne. =) we did too back in 2000-2001. we go back once a yr for the labor day softball tournament.

Looks like you have a budding vegetarian on your hands.
I think the funniest part was hearing you start to crack up in the background. HEHE!
Hilarious! Maddy watched it with me and was asking about “Chloe and Emmy”! She misses you guys, and so do we

Oh, wow, that is so classic Emmers! lol hilarious
Let’s just hope she doesn’t join Greenpeace and campaign for animals to have legal amendment rights =)
How funny. You have a sweet daughter. My daughter had a melt down when we took the family to a Brazilian style meat restaurant on a busy Sunday with a big group of people. We were all hungry, they were trying to find a table for us and then a waiter walked by with a big stick full of meat and my 9 year old daughter bursts into tears. I walked her through it, but it was quite the scandal. The whole “family of the animal” thing came into the conversation. I didn’t know whether to laugh or tell her to suck it up. In the end it all worked out.
Crazy quirks… oh boy, I could write for days… that is part of the reason I started a blog. My kids crack me up!
Hope your day is going well. Thanks for sharing this video with us.

[...] The best part is when she calls us, as only a 4-year old can do, a “birdy-eater-head.” Watch this video that Lisa posted on her blog. [...]
Great laugh in the middle of a busy day. Too cute.

I love that she …Do you hear me? That was my way of letting my daughter know I was serious about something. It had about the same impact on my daughter as it had on you.
sigh.

Emmers, Emmers! I’m a vegetarian, not because I love animals, but because I hate vegetables.
And that attitude is ’cause she’s a city slicker!
Oh, and nice way to drive traffic to your wife’s blog, Brad!
That is hysterical! Quite the attitude. She’d fit right in with the “granola Oregonians” - where vegans and vegetarians abound!!
LOL
That is so adorably cute. I think it’s worthy of America’s Funniest Videos. You could buy the farm if you won
