Why do boys pee standing up?

Today as I was reading Brandiandboys, Chloe (my 7 year old daughter) looked over my shoulder and saw this flippee toilet. She was quite perplexed as to what this strange contraption was used for. Since we don’t have little boys in our home with “special equipment”, she had lots of questions. I told her boys stand up and pee and sometimes it can be very messy. 
She wanted to know if boys hold “it” while they pee.
Yes, honey they do.
*snickering from Chloe*
She then asked, does Daddy ever miss the toilet?
Fortunately, I was able to tell her that he has great aim. Chloe thought for a little bit and came to the conclusion that it would be best if all boys sat down when they peed.
It has now been officially validated online…

Why do boys pee standing up? “Because we can” hahaha… sorry……… have you seen the targets you can place in the bottom of the bowl? Helps with training (of all ages). Cheers…….eric
I am a horrid mother. When potty training my 3 sons I “forgot” to mention they could go standing up. They finally figured it out on their own when they were playing in the woods and didn’t want to bother coming into the house…. but for a very long time, I didn’t need to worry about the wandering stream problem
And they know if they forget to put the seat down, they will face the wrath of mom….not a pretty sight.

I had 5 boys. 3 out of the 5 had good aim. The other two, well….lets just say they didn’t enjoy cleaning the toilet at all. I do have a photo from ones grandpa of he and his cousin peeing off the dock. I also own a puzzle sent to me from my Dad several years ago. When I put it together it was of my youngest 3 peeing down off into the woods from the top of a hill. You just don’t get good peeing pictures from girls!!!
Eric- I have seen the “targets” If we had a boy, I would be using them.

My husband too has good aim and so far the oldest takes after him. He does better standing up, otherwise he pees all over his pants and underwear(my son, not my husband), like at the library two saturdays ago. No change of clothes, that was fun to figure out in freezing cold weather.
